What could be better than an afternoon of Street Photography, well, that would be an afternoon of street photography at the 2021Manchester Christmas Markets with the gang from the Welshot Photographic Academy. Manchester’s Christmas Markets have long been a favourite of Team Welshot, as the perfect place to perfect your street, documentary and reportage photography. From the thousands of visitors that visit the beautiful festive stalls and chalets which are spread across the city centre, these Christmas Markets are sure to give the photographer a wide range of choice when it comes to capturing the festive spirit in camera.

This, Car Photography on Location – Mini-Module with Masterclass from the Welshot Photographic Academy, event covers everything you need to know about how to make, create and capture stunning car photographs. Team Welshot will take you through everything you need to know, from lens choice to camera settings and functions to use to get the best from your camera. From learning how to minimise reflections in the metallic surfaces to useful lighting techniques such as gradient lighting and light painting. If there was ever a time I was going to struggle with anxiety then the last 16 months was that time – I knew from the moment we took the decision to completely lockdown and go into self-isolation that I was going to have to create a structure and a focus in order to get through this unprecedented time in our lives. Hashtag #WelshotIsBack seems a very apt way to title this very first blog written by Welshot Academy Members to celebrate being able to meet up with our cameras after months of lockdown… As life returns to a more relative sense of normality, Welshot are preparing to open up once again for photographic workshops and events in a slow and cautious manner. Hence the three ‘practice run-throughs’ – AKA… A Welshot Photographic Reunion. Since March 2020, when the pandemic hit, Welshot has continued to help motivate, inspire and support those who love photography during these isolating months, all brought together using hashtags #LearnWithWelshot and #WelshotOnline but nothing quite compares to being able to hold our photographic workshops and events in real life.
