This studio mains flash for photography is a practical, hands on full-day event for all photography enthusiasts wanting to learn how to creatively shoot portraits using mains studio flash lighting. Learning about lighting, and how it works, is the single most important thing you can learn when it comes to your portrait photography. Rembrandt, butterfly, side and split lighting, using grids, getting creative, learning to see (and shoot) in black and white will help you to create, learn and inspire your photography. Your studio mains flash for photography workshop will be taking place at the Welshot Creative Hub.
Learning how to control the light takes a lot of time and practice and can be overwhelming for some, especially, if you are a beginner to studio mains flash photography. By learning (and practicing) the right techniques, learning about how the light works (with your camera) it can also be fun and the results stunning. Our Welshot Team Leaders will guide you step by step, showing you how to set up your first light, a second light, and more – adding a reflector, using a grid, and, more importantly, how to get the picture right in your camera. You will also learn how to pose and direct your model to get the photo you want.
Our Fashion Photography – Gels & Studio Mains Flash in the Welshot Creative Hub gives you a chance to learn, be creative and with the right amount of theory and practice, that will help you to boost your imagination, gain more confidence in a studio environment and make some stunning images for your portfolio at the same time.

The Welshot Team will be at hand throughout this Fashion Photography – Gels & Studio Mains Flash in the Welshot Creative Hub event to assist and help you get the best from your camera, so you can leave at the end of this session with memory cards full of beautiful photographs and great memories having learned a thing or three about photography and your camera.

10:35 – Photography starts – One to One and Group tuition

13:30 – Photography continues with One to One and Group Tuition

- Camera and lenses suitable for this event: Any focal length lens of between 35mm and 100mm or standard kit zoom
- Spare Batteries and Memory Card
- Any props you might like to include in your photos
- A list of ideas, help, questions etc that you would like to discuss with Welshot Team Leaders.
