This studio mains flash for photography is a practical, hands on full-day event for all photography enthusiasts wanting to learn how to creatively shoot portraits using mains studio flash lighting. Learning about lighting, and how it works, is the single most important thing you can learn when it comes to your portrait photography. Rembrandt, butterfly, side and split lighting, using grids, getting creative, learning to see (and shoot) in black and white will help you to create, learn and inspire your photography. Your studio mains flash for photography workshop will be taking place at the Welshot Creative Hub.

Build Your Portfolio Day with Xenia – Portrait Photography at the Welshot Creative Hub. November sees us welcoming Xenia to the Welshot Creative Hub in Llandudno for our “Portfolio Building” full day photographic event. Xenia is a professional, full-time model based in Sheffield and with her own photography studio – Zavod. Xenia has extensive knowledge as a photographer and a model. With a deep understanding of how the camera, lighting, composition and posing work together, you will, as a photographer, benefit from her modelling experience, her photographic knowledge and be in an ideal environment to create and make some stunning portraiture for your portfolio. This comprehensive session will take place in a studio environment using mains studio lighting, and outside on location, using off camera flash, (if weather permits) with at least five costume/outfit changes this evening photography session will cover everything from lighting to composition while giving you lots of hints and tips, ensuring that you develop a well-rounded skill set to take home with you.We know Xenia loves a bit of “Punk” so you can expect some great costumes with Xenia pulling all sorts of shapes for you and your camera!

Without a doubt, as a photographer, you will not only benefit from her modelling experience but get a unique insight from a photographic point of view as well which will help you too create some stand-out images for your portfolio.

Frocks On Rocks – Fashion & Portrait Photography – Llandudno Photographic Academy Evening

Frocks on Rocks, meets Piers and Portraits – our Llandudno Photographic Academy Evening for August sees two of the most popular Welshot photography sessions come together for this off camera, on location fashion photography shoot come to life.

Our Model(s) will be wearing a wide range of fashion outfits, ranging from 1950’s Vogue to 1960’s retro, and posing against the beautiful backdrop of the Llandudno Bay, otherwise known as the Queen of Resorts, specifically, the pier, the promenade and the colonnades. Team Welshot will be helping you to create and make some great portrait images using off camera flash as well as using the available natural light as well as capturing your portraits using the “Golden” and “Blue” hours before and after sunset. From simple and elegant headshots on the pier and promenade, to dramatic and creative poses, this event will be perfect for those who want to learn the techniques and skills required to capture some stunning portraits. We even have a back-up plan if the weather isn’t playing ball – the Welshot Creative Hub!
