Our October “Portfolio Building” full day photographic event sees us welcoming Simone Stocks into the Welshot Creative Hub in Llandudno.  Simone is a professional, full-time model based in London and Derby with 10 years experience.  Simone has passion for being on both sides of the lens and has a deep understanding of how light brings notable energy to a photoshoot.  Without a doubt, as a photographer, you will not only benefit from her modelling experience but get a unique insight from a photographic point of view as well which will help you too create some stand-out images for your portfolio.  This comprehensive session will take place in a studio environment using mains studio, and, outside on location using off camera flash, (if weather permits) with at least five costume/outfit changes this evening photography session will cover everything from lighting to composition while giving you lots of hints and tips, ensuring that you develop a well-rounded skill set to take home with you.

What Will Be Covered:

Mastering Lighting Techniques: Experiment with various lighting setups. Understand the differences between soft and harsh light and how they affect the mood of your portraits. Learn to use reflectors and diffusers to control and manipulate light.

Perfecting Composition:  While the rule of thirds is a great starting point, we will explore other composition techniques like framing, leading lines, and symmetry. We will also explain why considering your background is an integral part of your composition.

Posing Techniques:  Study the art of posing. Develop a repertoire of poses that suit different models and situations. Practice directing your model to achieve natural and expressive poses, paying attention to body language and facial expressions.

How to Develop a Style:  As you gain experience, you’ll naturally develop a unique style. This could involve specific editing techniques, preferred lighting setups, or a signature approach to posing. Embrace this evolution and continue refining your style over time.
