Macro & Close-Up Floral Photography. Macro photography (or close-up photography) is a photographic genre that some people struggle with but at our Full Day photographic event, based in the Welshot Creative Hub in Llandudno, Team Welshot will take you through step by step of everything you need to do to create some stunning macro photography images. At this event we will be working with a wide variety of flowers, using natural, ambient and artificial light, which will ensure you will still get a day of photography regardless of the weather outside.  There will be ample opportunity for one to one tuition as well as in a small group setting (this event is limited to just 4 people) where you can collaborate with other delegates.  With a whole day of photography ahead of you, there will be plenty of time to get creative, experiment and make some stunning images which you can be proud of.

Introduction to Digital Scrapbooking - Welshot Creative Hub Llandudno

Have you a hard-drive full of images that you don’t know what to do with?  Do you ever wonder what you could do with your photos that you’ve taken?  Do you have memories that have been captured in camera and you’d like to put them into something more meaningful than Facebook?  Well. this Introduction to Digital scrapbooking is the perfect event for you.  This is the event that will have you being creative with all those wonderful photos that you’ve taken – and maybe even, make it into a book for printing, which would make the perfect gift for a loved one. At the Welshot Creative Hub in Llandudno, North Wales we will take you every step that you need to, to make a perfect digital scrapbook.  The software we use is simple, and free, which means you can carry on at home producing your wonderful scapbooks.

What Is Digital Scrapbooking:  Digital scrapbooking is the term for the creation of a new 2D artwork by re-combining various graphic elements and your own photos. It is a form of scrapbooking that is done using a personal computer, digital or scanned photos and computer graphics software. It is a relatively new form of the traditional print scrapbooking.

Lighting Techniques for Portrait Photography – Day two and it is all about Off Camera Flash Flash at the Welshot Photographic Lighting Academy Weekend.  Day two will cover everything you need to know about Off Camera Flash, how it works with your camera and how you can take, make and create great portraiture photography inside and outside on location.  From learning how to set up your lighting equipment from the ground up in the Welshot Creative Hub, you will be shown how to use one light, then two lights.  You will be working inside and out on location around Llandudno, and Team Welshot will help you to get all the images you want for your portfolio.  You will be shown how to work with props, modifiers and gels to give you a wide range of looks and our experienced Welshot models will put you at ease immediately.  If you need any help (with posing or working with models) they will be only too pleased to give you all the help, guidance and suggestions you want.  Our Models will be wearing a variety of outfits/costumes and we will be using a wide range of backdrops and sets (inside and outside). If you have ever wanted to learn, perfect or hone your Off Camera Flash for photography skills then this is the day for you.

Lighting Techniques for Portrait Photography – Day One:  Studio Mains Flash sees the return of the Welshot Photographic Lighting Academy Weekend.  Day one will cover all things ‘Mains Studio’ and you will be taken through all the steps you need to know to enable you to take, make and create great portraiture photography.  From learning how to set up your lighting equipment from the ground up, you will be taken through how using one light, then two, three and onto four lights can help you to capture a wide variety of images with different looks.  You will be shown how using a light meter can help you to get the perfectly exposed image to how working with props, modifiers and gels can change the look of your image.  Our experienced Welshot models will put you at ease immediately, and if you need help they will be only too pleased to help.  They will be wearing a variety of outfits/costumes and we will be using a wide range of backdrops and sets. If you have ever wanted to learn, perfect or hone your studio lighting for photography skills then this is the day for you.  Day one of the Welshot Lighting Academy Weekend can be taken as a stand-alone or together with day two (booked separately)  

Floral Photography – flowers of every size, shape and colour, mixed with props galore, backdrops and backgrounds by the dozen, a chance to style and shoot to your hearts content with all the help, support, guidance and photographic tuition you need and you’ve got yourself a still-life and floral photography adventure for you and you camera. This is your chance to get creative with your camera, learn about lighting, styling, composition and how to make your images from the ground up. This Welshot photography workshop will have the creative juices flowing and have you creating and making stunning images for your portfolio.

Flat-lay is a popular genre of photography for those who like to be creative, post on various social media platforms or just want to spend some time making an creating imaginative, impactful images.  Knolling, a form of flat-lay but using specific props that link together (like kitchen cutlery, makeup or tools) to form an attractive, methodical, often symmetrical in some way, photograph.  At this Welshot Flat-lay photography day, held at the Welshot Creative Hub in Llandudno we will be spending the day learning the techniques, both compositionally and lighting to make and create images you can be proud to showcase.  Using a wide variety of props, from flowers to food, from kitchen utensils to stationery, from toys to tools – this day will have it all for you, your imagination and your camera.

Low-light, long exposure and firework photography – what more could a photographer want as we come into the Winter season. Join the Welshot Team at the Welshot Creative Hub in Llandudno and over a mug of steaming hot chocolate you will start this photographic event with a masterclass on helping you to get the best images you can during the Llandudno Firework display. After the fireworks it will be all about long exposure seascapes, the waterfront and capturing the pier in low-light conditions
