You are going to learn how to make long exposures to capture the sea as it laps the shore and lighthouse as well as clouds and dramatic landscape in low light conditions. For those who would like to learn the art of light painting, we will be lighting up the lighthouse as well as creating some dramatic art. Plenty to photograph and keep you busy on this extensive Welshot Mini Module.
It’s all about Piers & Portraits – Off Camera Flash Photography at our first Welshot Anglesey Academy Evening at The Bulkeley Hotel in Beaumaris, North Wales. Our Model(s) will be posing against the beautiful backdrop of the Menai Straits and the foothills of the Snowdonia mountain ranges, and helping you to create and make some great portrait images using off camera flash as well as using the available natural light. From simple and elegant headshots on the pier, to dramatic and creative poses and splashing on the beach this event will be perfect for those who want to learn the techniques and skills required to capture some stunning portraits.
Lighthouses and Long Exposure Photography. The Talacre sand dunes form the backdrop to the beach at Point of Ayr, in Flintshire, North Wales and makes for a perfect location for the photographer who loves seascapes, lighthouses and nature. The sand dunes overlook a large expanse of sand is on the western side of the River Dee and form part of the RSPB nature reserve which is popular with bird watchers and photographers alike – the Natterjack Toad is also a habitat of the sand dunes which have been designated as a site of special scientific interest. If lighthouses are your jam, then Welshot has got you covered there too – set, mid-beach the Point of Ayr Lighthouse which was built in 1776 provides a fantastic opportunity, especially if we get a sunset!
Seascapes and Sunsets – What more could the photographer want. Tonight at the Welshot Photographic Roving Academy Evening we will be in the picturesque location of Rhos on Sea, Colwyn Bay, North Wales where we will walk along the promenade that follows the vast sweep from Old Colwyn to Penrhyn Bay. There will be plenty to keep the photographer and camera busy, from sailing boats in the man-made harbour to street photography.

An annual photographic event that starts on the Evening of one day and finishes at breakfast on the next. Photographers, cameras, tripods, copious amounts of snacks and numerous thermos flasks full of coffee all at the ready to capture sunrises, sunsets, long exposures, night skies, landscapes and not to mention ‘THAT’ Tree in Llanberis which is our starting point for this photography filled adventure which circumnavigates Snowdonia and Anglesey in North Wales.

Built by Sir William Clough-Ellis between 1925 and 1975, he brought the glamour and the beauty of the Italian Riviera here to North Wales and this will be were we will put our cameras to the challenge of capturing the spirit and essence of Portmeirion.
After the success of the 2019 “Shortest Night” we will, once again, be running this, not so short, non-stop night of photography. Circumnavigating Anglesey and Snowdonia” – starting in Llanberis with a picnic supper in the evening and finishing at breakfast, both of which are included in the cost of this event. Shooting for nearly 15 hours solid. Most of the 2019 delegates are already pre-booked onto this event so spaces are already limited.
