The full day themed photo-shoot event, Mad Hatters was a long time coming. It was well worth the wait however when Models, the Cambria Costume House and Team Welshot all came together at the Chester Crowne Plaza on Sunday 14th August to bring eighteen passionate photographers a great day of photography. From beginning to end the models danced, posed and portrayed the Lewis Carroll characters in six full studio set-ups, complete with bespoke backdrops and props which included a full-size dolls house, pink flamingos, knitted cupcakes, and a large assortment of teapots, cups and saucers.

Seascapes and Sunsets in Llandudno – from piers to promenades, from architecture to artistic angles, from North Shore to West Shore, this Welshot Roving Photographic Academy Evening will have it all for those who like to be out and about with their camera capturing the beauty of the world around them.  Llandudno, Queen of the Resorts has it all for the photographer – historic piers, photogenic promenades lined on one side with a wide open expanse of the Llandudno North Shore, to the Victorian listed buildings that will provide you with the features of the colourful architecture. After photographing the pier and bay, we will then move to West Shore and there you will find rock pools and sandy beaches with a backdrop of the Welsh hills and Anglesey in distance – from which the sun will set behind, hopefully giving us a colourful sunset and magnificent light.

A Photographic Adventure at Blists Hill – This WelshotRewards Day for Members of the Welshot Photographic Academy has it all. The Chester Photographic Academy Evening for July is all about Creative Photography. Tonight you will learn how to look for images others might miss – You will be shown how to use your camera settings and functions, creating a specific effect in your photograph. From long-exposures, to bokeh, from over-exposed images and how they can work in your favour, to seeing shapes, form and textures. From getting down low to looking up high. Wide angle, fish eye and zoom movement captures – this photography workshop will have it all for the photographer who wants to have some fun getting creative with their camera. We will even have a ‘Scavenger Hunt’ for those who wish to be challenged.

Now that the Chester Crowne Plaza is fully open for events we have been able to reschedule this photographic workshop, and previously booked on delegates can look forward to a fun day of photography, props, working with a large cast of models and learn a thing or three about studio mains flash photography.

Frocks on Rocks – Trash The Dress – Photo-Shoot, this Welshot event was postponed due to Covid 19 and subsequent lockdowns. Now that we are back to normal for events we have been able to reschedule this photographic workshop, and previously booked on delegates can look forward to a fun day of photography, props, working with a large cast of models and learn a thing or three about off camera flash photography.

Fine Art Floral Photography & Editing Techniques at the Welshot Creative Hub – At this photographic workshop you will spend the Morning learning how to choose your flowers, props, style, compose, light your subject, and use your camera to make your photograph. You will also learn how to make your own textures and backgrounds for your fine art photographs.

From low-light, long exposures to how to photograph the night sky this Welshot photographic event at Cwm Idwal in Snowdonia will keep you and your camera busy taking stunning images from before sunset to long after the sun has gone down. You will learn how to make long exposures to capture the lake and sky as well as clouds and dramatic mountain landscape in low light conditions. For those who would like to learn the art of light painting, we will be lighting up the picturesque bridge that leads up to the lake.

Creative Photography – Charge your batteries, grab your camera and head to the vibrant City of Liverpool for this Welshot Roving Photographic Academy Evening. This photography workshop is going to have you and your camera getting creative capturing those city and riverscape images. You will learn to look for lead in lines, reflections, and details galore. You will be learning to ‘See’ images in Black & White, how to make the most of whatever the weather and light throws at you. From picture in puddles (if it rains) to long, creative exposures. From wide Cityscape vistas to getting those close-up macro photographs. As the sun sets over the opposite side of the River Mersey the hope will be to catch a colourful sunset.
