Macro photography (or close-up photography) is a photographic genre that some people struggle with but at our Photographic Academy Evening, based in the Welshot Creative Hub in Llandudno, Team Welshot will take you through step by step of everything you need to do to create some stunning macro photography images. Working with ethically sourced bugs, insects and critters, flowers and man-made objects will ensure you will still get an evening of photography regardless of the weather outside.
Riverscape Low-Light & Long Exposure Photography from the Welshot Roving Photographic Academy Evening is always one of most popular Roving Academy Evenings – everything from long exposures to shooting for panoramic images. Capturing the details of this wonderful, historic and vibrant skyline, from the coming and goings of boats, ferries and ships on the River Mersey the photographer will never be at a loss for something to capture in their camera. If you love architectural photography, the Liverpool skyline has it all, from the M&S Bank Arena and the Liverpool Museum which provide the modern influence to the Liver Buildings and Three Graces showcasing the historical architectural delights.
Creative Christmas Photography at the Llandudno Photographic Academy Evening is all about having some fun with your camera while you create some wonderful seasonal photographs. At the November Welshot Academy Evening at the Welshot Creative Hub you will be learning how to make your own Christmas filters, then using fairy lights, and Christmas trees, you will learn how to capture that lovely Bokeh in your camera which makes for some stunning and festive images. We will also be working with coloured lights, torches and gels to do some inside light-painting. From flat-lay to still-life photography, from food to Christmas products this will be an opportunity for those who want to make festive and seasonal images for a specific purpose – art work, Christmas cards, stock photography or just for the pure fun of learning something new and a chance to take some photos. Hot chocolate, Christmas mince pies, Christmas crackers and a glass (or two) of mulled wine will complete this last Llandudno Academy Evening for 2022.
Grab your camera, charge you battery, it’s time for the Welshot Low-Light & Creative Cityscape Photography – Chester – Roving Academy Evening event. Meeting at the Chester Crowne Plaza we will be walking along part of the walls and towards the River Dee where we will capture the historical atmosphere of Chester. From low-light to long exposures, from wide landscapes (Cityscapes) to stunning details that you will only find in this Roman City – this photography workshop is going to have you and your camera looking for lead in lines, reflections, and details galore. You will be learning to ‘See’ images in Black & White and how to make the most of whatever the weather and light throws at us. From picture in puddles (if it rains) to long, creative exposures, which will have us capturing traffic trails. From wide Cityscape vistas to getting those detail shots – this event will have you going home with plenty of photographs secure on your memory card.
Creative Photography is about discovering shapes, textures, colour and movement and how all these, combined together, can help you to create the most amazing photographs. At the September Welshot Academy Evening, based at The Bulkeley Hotel, Beaumaris on Anglesey this Evening photographic workshop is all about Oil, Water & Cross-Polarisation and how using a wide variety of everyday objects, from bottles, to coloured cloth, along with the correct settings and functions on your camera, can achieve effective images with that “WOW – how did you do that?” factor. From fast shutter speeds to capture water droplets to long exposures so you get that milky effect with flowing water. Tonight you will see how oil and water does mix when it comes to photography and a laptop just isn’t used for post processing and editing your images. You will leave this event inspired and motivated to try this at home and with the skills, techniques and ideas you will have take away with you, you will be able to do just that.
The full day themed photo-shoot event, Mad Hatters was a long time coming. It was well worth the wait however when Models, the Cambria Costume House and Team Welshot all came together at the Chester Crowne Plaza on Sunday 14th August to bring eighteen passionate photographers a great day of photography. From beginning to end the models danced, posed and portrayed the Lewis Carroll characters in six full studio set-ups, complete with bespoke backdrops and props which included a full-size dolls house, pink flamingos, knitted cupcakes, and a large assortment of teapots, cups and saucers.
