Ballet shoes, tutus and graceful movements – that’s what the Welshot Team will be helping you to capture in your camera at this Dance Portrait Photography workshop in Chester. This will be a day of creating images using two different lighting set ups. In the studio using mains flash and outside, on location using off camera flash. From unique, specifically printed for Welshot, backdrops in a studio environment, to using the historic backdrop of Chester outside locations you will, on this photography workshop be making and creating stunning images for your photographic portfolio. You will learn how to use your shutter speed to create a variety of effects in camera – from long exposures to freezing movement. Portraiture photography is a great skill to learn and on this event we will be using a variety of lighting to capture a range of different looks. From head shots to our dancers leaping this day will have it all.
You Will Learn
- How to use your camera settings and functions to capture movement
- How to use various lighting techniques to capture dance portraiture
- How to pose and work with Models (You will be working in a studio environment and an outside location)
- How to use studio mains flash
- How to use off camera flash (outside)
- How using your shutter speed at different speeds will alter the look of your image
- How to freeze movement
- How to show movement (capture that milky/blurry look)
- How to use your outside locations/surroundings/backgrounds to your advantage
- What Welshot can do for you and your photography

Whether you are a beginner to photography, a photographer who would like to try a new genre, learn a new technique or skill, or, a more advanced photographer who wants to build their image portfolio, you will be made welcome, and we would love to help you get the best out of your camera.
The Welshot Team will be at hand throughout this Dance Portrait Photography in Chester event to assist and help you get the best from your camera, so you can leave at the end of this session with memory cards full of beautiful photographs and great memories having learned a thing or three about photography and your camera.

Before 10.30am – Please wait in lounge area of the Chester Crowne Plaza – A Welshot Team Leader will greet you.
10:20 – Function room doors open – Welcome
10:30 – Photography with 1:1 Tuition and Group Tuition starts
13:00 – Lunch – Included
14:00 – Photography with 1:1 Tuition and Group Tuition resumes
17:00 – Finish

- Camera and lenses suitable for this event: Any focal length lens of between 35mm and 100mm or standard kit zoom
- Spare Batteries and Memory Card
- Any props you might like to include in your photos
- A list of ideas, help, questions etc that you would like to discuss with Welshot Team Leaders.
