Flat-lay is a popular genre of photography for those who like to be creative, post on various social media platforms or just want to spend some time making an creating imaginative, impactful images. Knolling, a form of flat-lay but using specific props that link together (like kitchen cutlery, makeup or tools) to form an attractive, methodical, often symmetrical in some way, photograph. At this Welshot Flat-lay photography day, held at the Welshot Creative Hub in Llandudno we will be spending the day learning the techniques, both compositionally and lighting to make and create images you can be proud to showcase. Using a wide variety of props, from flowers to food, from kitchen utensils to stationery, from toys to tools – this day will have it all for you, your imagination and your camera.

At this event we will be working with a wide variety of flowers, using natural, ambient and artificial light, which will ensure you will still get a day of photography regardless of the weather outside. There will be ample opportunity for one to one tuition as well as in a small group setting where you can collaborate with others. With a whole day of photography ahead of you, there will be plenty of time to get creative, experiment and make some stunning images which you can be proud of.

At this event we will be working with a wide variety of flowers, using natural, ambient and artificial light, which will ensure you will still get a day of photography regardless of the weather outside. There will be ample opportunity for one to one tuition as well as in a small group setting where you can collaborate with others. With a whole day of photography ahead of you, there will be plenty of time to get creative, experiment and make some stunning images which you can be proud of.
There will also be an opportunity to review your images and get some help with post processing / editing of your images if you wish.

Creative, inspirational and fun – the genre of Miniature People photography is all of these things and more and is guaranteed have you making and creating some fantastic images at this Llandudno Photographic Academy Evening. By integrating true scale objects, from food to every day items you can find around your home the idea is to build real scenes, that look almost realistic. By using your imagination you will soon see the potential for creating and making photos in miniature is inexhaustible. Your weekly food shop, or a child’s toy box will become a world of inspiration and an adventure. Ordinary household items and foods will now be a child’s playgrounds, or ramps and jumps for a miniature skatepark. The limit truly is your own imagination. As well as making creative images at this Academy Evening for your portfolio you will learn the art of macro and close-up photography, how using your cameras setting and functions can give your images a different look and feel and learn how to light your composition using light-boxes and light pads.

Our first Walking with Your Camera – A Guided Photo Walk with Helen Iles for 2023 and it’s a Welshot Mini Module with Masterclass – on this photographic event which takes place in the stunning Bodnant Gardens in North Wales we are going to help you get the best from your camera. In our Welshot masterclass you will learn the photographic technique of ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) and learn how to compose your images. Walking with your camera is about being in the great outdoors and capturing the surroundings in your camera. From long exposures to abstract water compositions to macro and close-up photography, capturing the flora and fauna, this day has it all for the photographer.
