Creative Christmas Photography at the Llandudno Photographic Academy Evening is all about having some fun with your camera while you create some wonderful seasonal photographs. At the November Welshot Academy Evening at the Welshot Creative Hub you will be learning how to make your own Christmas filters, then using fairy lights, and Christmas trees, you will learn how to capture that lovely Bokeh in your camera which makes for some stunning and festive images. We will also be working with coloured lights, torches and gels to do some inside light-painting. From flat-lay to still-life photography, from food to Christmas products this will be an opportunity for those who want to make festive and seasonal images for a specific purpose – art work, Christmas cards, stock photography or just for the pure fun of learning something new and a chance to take some photos. Hot chocolate, Christmas mince pies, Christmas crackers and a glass (or two) of mulled wine will complete this last Llandudno Academy Evening for 2022.

Meeting at the Chester Crowne Plaza we will be walking along part of the walls and towards the River Dee where we will capture the historical atmosphere of Chester. From low-light to long exposures, from wide landscapes (Cityscapes) to stunning details that you will only find in this Roman City – this photography workshop is going to have you and your camera looking for lead in lines, reflections, and details galore. You will be learning to ‘See’ images in Black & White and how to make the most of whatever the weather and light throws at us. From picture in puddles (if it rains) to long, creative exposures, which will have us capturing traffic trails. From wide Cityscape vistas to getting those detail shots – this event will have you going home with plenty of photographs secure on your memory card.
This Lighting Techniques for Studio Portraiture – Chester Photographic Academy Evening event is for all photography enthusiasts who are wanting to learn about photographic lighting. During the evenings workshop you will be using mains studio lights and off camera flash. Learning about lighting, and how it works, is the single most important skill to have when when it comes to your portrait photography. Working with our Welshot Models you will try you hand at Rembrandt, butterfly, side and split lighting. You will be using grids, modifiers and getting creative, learning to see (and shoot) in black and white and working with coloured gels. This studio mains and off camera flash photography workshop will be taking place at The Chester Crowne Plaza.

Astro & Night Photography – How to shoot the night sky. Join the Team Welshot for our second Astro photography workshop at Cwm Idwal in Snowdonia for an Evening of night photography. From low-light, long exposures to how to photograph the night sky this Welshot photographic event at Cwm Idwal in Snowdonia will keep you and your camera busy taking stunning images from before sunset to long after the sun has gone down. You will learn how to make long exposures to capture the lake and sky as well as clouds and dramatic mountain landscape in low light conditions. Food styling and photography, that’s what’s happening at the Welshot Photographic Academy Evening at The Bulkeley Hotel in Beaumaris, Anglesey for May. During this food photography workshop you will be using continuous natural and ambient lighting while learning how to use props, how to style with your food and how to best light the image you wish to make. From Flat-lay to creative photogenic angles, from bokeh to crisp sharp images – your main aim is to leave having not only learned a thing or three about food photography but have a selection of images worthy of any food magazine.
