The Chester Photographic Academy Evening for July is all about Creative Photography. Tonight you will learn how to look for images others might miss – You will be shown how to use your camera settings and functions, creating a specific effect in your photograph. From long-exposures, to bokeh, from over-exposed images and how they can work in your favour, to seeing shapes, form and textures. From getting down low to looking up high. Wide angle, fish eye and zoom movement captures – this photography workshop will have it all for the photographer who wants to have some fun getting creative with their camera. We will even have a ‘Scavenger Hunt’ for those who wish to be challenged.

Fine Art Floral Photography & Editing Techniques at the Welshot Creative Hub – At this photographic workshop you will spend the Morning learning how to choose your flowers, props, style, compose, light your subject, and use your camera to make your photograph. You will also learn how to make your own textures and backgrounds for your fine art photographs.

This photography workshop is going to have you and your camera getting creative capturing those city and riverscape images. You will learn to look for lead in lines, reflections, and details galore. You will be learning to ‘See’ images in Black & White, how to make the most of whatever the weather and light throws at you. From picture in puddles (if it rains) to long, creative exposures. From wide Cityscape vistas to getting those close-up macro photographs. As the sun sets over the opposite side of the River Mersey the hope will be to catch a colourful sunset.

You will be learning to ‘See’ images in Black & White and how to make the most of whatever the weather and light throws at you. From picture in puddles (if it rains) to long, creative exposures. From wide Cityscape vistas to getting those close-up macro photographs.
Architectural Photography in Manchester – it’s a Photographers dream. Commonly known as England’s second city and once a powerhouse of industry it is now famous for its extensive libraries and buildings. With the juxtaposition of old and new, Manchester is the perfect City to visit with your camera, so, charge those batteries and come join us for an Afternoon of photography. This is your chance to learn your camera, capture some great images and meet with like-minded people who just love to take photographs.
Food styling and photography, that’s what’s happening at the Welshot Photographic Academy Evening at The Bulkeley Hotel in Beaumaris, Anglesey this Month. You will learn how to use props to style with your food, composition and lighting. From Flat-lay to creative photogenic angles, from bokeh to crisp sharp images – your main aim is to leave having not only learned a thing or three about food photography but have a selection of images worthy of any food magazine.
Mains studio flash, off camera flash, photography and period costumes on location at The Bulkeley Hotel – what more could the portrait photographer possibly want or need. At this Anglesey Photographic Academy Evening your models will be wearing authentic costumes from the Cambria Costume House. We will have at least one mains studio flash set up with various backgrounds and props and we will also be using off camera flash on locations in and around the hotel – including the ornate grand staircase and ballroom. Tonight, you will also learn precision, where to place the light, and how it falls on your subject can dramatically affect the look of your image.
Our first Walking with Your Camera – A Guided Photo Walk with Helen Iles for 2022 and it’s a Welshot Mini Module with Masterclass – on this photographic event which takes place in the stunning Bodnant Gardens in North Wales we are going to help you get the best from your camera. In our Welshot master-class you will learn the photographic technique of ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) and learn how to compose your images. Walking with your camera is about being in the great outdoors and capturing the surroundings in your camera. From long exposures to abstract water compositions to macro and close-up photography, capturing the flora and fauna, this day has it all for the photographer.
Always a firm favourite of photographic delegates, this themed photo-shoot: Recreate A Grand Master Painting with Welshot will be no different. For the first time we will be using the St Mary’s Creative Space in the historic City of Chester for a full day event and we will have at least six mains studio flash sets, complete with props, models wearing a stunning array of costumes and mood/vision boards to help you recreate those paintings in your camera. For our 2022 Recreate a Grand Masters themed photo-shoot, we will also be throwing in some contemporary paintings and still-life photography for those who would like to capture something a little different.
Street Photography meets Chinese New Year 2022 – What more does a photographer a need. This WelshotRewards Day for Academy Members will keep you and your camera busy for hours. Vibrant, colourful, and atmospheric you will be able to capture everything from dramatic panoramic scenescapes to close-up details, from street photography to dance and movement. After meeting in Liverpool One we will wander up to the iconic Chinese Ceremonial Archway, which, standing tall and can be seen from a distance, provides and impressive entrance to Chinatown, home to the oldest Chinese community in Europe.
