What could be better than a photographic adventure to celebrate the “Winter Solstice” – This full-day, Welshot event is the perfect way to blow those Winter cobwebs away.  Starting at Penmon Lighthouse, we will capture the sun as it rises above the Great Orme which overlooks Llandudno, North Wales.  You will learn how to take long exposure, experimenting with using various shutter speed to slow the movement of water, which will give the sea that ‘Milky – Blurry’ look.  This photographic event is guaranteed to provide the photographer with a wide range of subjects and genres.  From seascape to landscape photography, from architectural to nature and wildlife, from macro to close-up – this is a day for those who like to amble around with their camera.

With the juxtaposition of old and new, Manchester is the perfect City to visit with your camera, so, charge those batteries and come join us for an Afternoon of photography. This is your chance to learn your camera, capture some great images and meet with like-minded people who just love to take photographs.

A to Z – Creative Photography in Chester – Chester Photographic Academy Evening. Let’s get creative in Chester!  Forget about the London A to Z, this Welshot Photographic Academy evening, based in Chester is all about looking for those often missed photo opportunities.  A to Z style!  From learning how to follow a commercial travel photography brief (think tourist brochure) to capturing images from our creative challenge this photography adventure will have you seeing. making and creating images using lead in lines, juxtapositions, reflections, a birds eye view and not to mention a snails point of view too.  Our base will be the Chester Crowne Plaza, which is where we will return to at the halfway point for our supper (chips included) and a chance to ask any questions, get some help and a review of the images before heading out again for the second part of the session.  You can also expect low-light and long exposures too as sunset will be 18:07.  So, grab your camera, bring your favourite lens and come join the Welshot gang for a fun, creative and productive Academy Evening in Chester.

Anglesey Bridges at Night – Low-Light Photography –  the September Welshot Roving Photographic Academy Evening is guaranteed to have you using your camera in low-light conditions and learning how to shoot long exposures.  If architectural photography is your jam then this is the photographic workshop event for you.  From Telford’s Menai Bridge to Robert Stephensons Britannia Bridge, which both connect the Island of Anglesey to the mainland of North Wales, these photogenetic structures will both delight and reward the photographer. Starting from the Coed Cyrnol Car Park, we will be walking along the Belgium Promenade, stopping at Llandysilio Island (otherwise known as Church Island) to capture the Britannia Bridge in all her splendour, before heading towards, and underneath, the magnificent Telford’s Bridge.  As we walk up to, onto and over the Menai Bridge itself we will capture this historical structure from both sides and all angles in our cameras.  If time permits, we can then make our way, by car, to the local lookout layby near to the A55 (and Britannia Bridge) so you can capture both bridges in all their glory as you head home from a wonderful evening of low-light, long exposure and architectural photography.

Creative Photography – Charge your batteries, grab your camera and head to the vibrant City of Liverpool for this Welshot Roving Photographic Academy Evening. This photography workshop is going to have you and your camera getting creative capturing those city and riverscape images. You will learn to look for lead in lines, reflections, and details galore. You will be learning to ‘See’ images in Black & White, how to make the most of whatever the weather and light throws at you. From picture in puddles (if it rains) to long, creative exposures. From wide Cityscape vistas to getting those close-up macro photographs. As the sun sets over the opposite side of the River Mersey the hope will be to catch a colourful sunset.

Autumn. Is there anything as nice as being in the open landscape during Autumn? We can think of only one thing better and that’s being out with your camera taking photographs during the Welshot Llangollen & Valle Crucis in Autumn – Mini Module with Masterclass photographic event. Welshot is celebrating all things Autumnal by heading for the picturesque town of Llangollen, in particular the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct which is a navigable aqueduct that carries the Llangollen Canal across the River Dee in northeast Wales. The 18-arched stone and cast iron structure is for use by narrowboats (and walkers) and was completed in 1805 having taken ten years to design and build and will sure to delight any landscape or architectural photographer.

Low-Light Long Exposure & HDR Photography. That’s what will be happening at the Welshot Chester Academy Evening in September. Our photographic adventure will start at the Old Harkers Arms and will take you and your camera on a gentle stroll alongside the Shropshire Union Canal that meanders through Cheshire. From learning how to use your camera in low-light conditions, taking long exposure photographs to shooting for HDR, this photographic workshop is guaranteed to provide you with the inspiration needed to capture some stunning and dramatic images.
