You Will Learn

  • Macro Photography: Floral photography often involves the use of macro lenses to capture close-up shots of flowers. You will learn how to showcase the fine details, such as the delicate petals, stamens, and pollen, creating visually stunning and intimate images.
  • Composition: Your composition plays a crucial role in floral photography. By paying attention to factors such as the rule of thirds, framing, and depth of field to create visually appealing and balanced images. Experimenting with angles and perspectives can result in unique and interesting compositions.
  • Lighting: How lighting is essential in floral photography to bring out the natural colours and textures of the flowers. We will also show you how to use diffusers or reflectors to control harsh light and shadows.
  • Backgrounds: The choice of background is important in floral photography. We will show you how using a clean and unobtrusive background, such as a solid colour or a blurred natural setting, can help the flowers stand out and become the focal point of your image.
  • Depth of Field: How manipulating the depth of field can be used as a technique to isolate the subject from the background, drawing attention to specific elements of the flower.

Whether you are a beginner to photography, a photographer who would like to try a new genre, learn a new technique or skill, or, a more advanced photographer who wants to build their image portfolio, you will be made welcome, and we would love to help you get the best out of your camera.
