Set at the foot of the iconic Point of Ayr Lighthouse which is perched on the northernmost point of mainland Wales, this Welshot full-day event, complete with a masterclass in long exposures offers a blend of breathtaking seascape photography and nature exploration.
The day begins with a gentle ramble through the diverse natural habitats and sprawling sand dunes that make up the landscape of Talacre. As we make our way towards the shoreline, you’ll be captivated by the view of the dramatic Point of Ayr Lighthouse standing tall against the vast expanse of the Dee Estuary. With the light shifting and the sound of waves crashing against the shore, this location offers a wealth of shooting opportunities for photographers of all levels.
Whether you’re drawn to the dynamic power of the sea or the delicate details of nature, this session has something for everyone. The Welshot Team will be at hand throughout this Seascape Photography & Nature Ramble – Talacre Beach – North Wales event to assist and help you get the best from your camera, so you can leave at the end of this session with memory cards full of beautiful photographs and great memories having learned a thing or three about photography and your camera.
Event Schedule
10:30 – Meet – The Point Bar & Restaurant (You will need to pay for parking)
10:35 – Nature Ramble – Macro and Close-Up Photography
13:00 – Masterclass – Long Exposures
15:15 – Capture the Lighthouse during the golden hour
16:15 – Sunset – Capture the seascape / landscape in the blue hour – Low-light and long exposures
17:30 – Finish
Please Bring
- Camera and lenses suitable for this event – Wide angle if possible – Standard zoom – Macro – Bring the lenses you have (or like working with) and we will help you get the best from your lens and camera
- Spare (Fully Charged) Batteries and Memory Card
- Tripod / Cable release if you have one
- Appropriate clothing for all types of weather conditions.
- Refreshments – Snacks or drinks you think you will require during the event
- Please note: We advise you bring a picnic lunch and all day refreshments to keep you going throughout the day. There is a pub type restaurant close by but we may decide to eat on the hoof! If you do wish to stop, you may do so, but, it will be your responsibility to catch up to the rest of the group.
