Welshot Does… Frocks on Rocks. This high-fashion photo-shoot has been a long standing annual event at Welshot, and each year, while we may have had a different theme, one thing has always remained the same – The seaside is ALWAYS our location and the 2023 event is no exception. Our theme for 2023 is… Vogue – 1940’s & 1950’s Fashion and our models will be dressed to the nines. The end of the war saw the return of couture fashion designers like Christian Dior, Cristóbal Balenciaga, Coco Chanel, and Hubert de Givenchy, all of whom had a major impact in the style of the decade and at this Welshot Photo-Shoot our Models will be wearing all manner of clothing from full skirts, cinched waists, sloping shoulders, and high waisted pants, which will create hourglass silhouettes with masculine details – perfect to capture in your camera and a stunning image for your portfolio. We are however, making one major change – we will be starting the days shooting after lunch and will continue until after the sun has gone down. By making use of of the afternoon and evening light that Llandudno is famous for, you are going to be capturing our models using that natural glow as well as using off camera flash.

Beginner to photography? We’re here for you.
Whether you are a beginner to photography, a photographer who would like to try a new genre, learn a new technique or skill, or, a more advanced photographer who wants to build their image portfolio, you will be made welcome, and we would love to help you get the best out of your camera.
The Welshot Team will be at hand throughout this Frocks on Rocks – Fashion Photo-Shoot – Llandudno event to assist and help you get the best from your camera, so you can leave at the end of this session with memory cards full of beautiful photographs and great memories having learned a thing or three about photography and your camera.
Event Schedule
Before 14:30 – Please use main entrance of 16 Trinity Square – A Welshot Team Leader will welcome you
14:30 – Welcome – A full days itinerary will be supplied closer to the day of event
14:40 – Photography with 1:1 Tuition and Group Tuition starts
21:16 – Sunset
21:30 – Finish
Please Bring
- Camera and lenses suitable for this event: Any focal length lens of between 35mm and 100mm or standard kit zoom
- Spare Batteries and Memory Card
- Any props you might like to include in your photos
- Any food refreshments and snacks to keep you going throughout the day / evening.
- A list of ideas, help, questions etc that you would like to discuss with Welshot Team Leaders.
