Our April Welshot Friday night studio session is not just about capturing images; it’s about unlocking your full creative potential and at this event we are joined by Joanna (Rose) Turner who will be your model for this photography session. You will be making images from high-fashion elegance to raw, emotive shots using a wide variety of lighting techniques and backdrops. Immerse yourself in an environment where your ideas can flourish, and your artistic expression knows no bounds. From conceptualisation to execution, every moment is an opportunity to create photographic masterpieces. Joanna brings not just beauty but a wealth of experience to help you get your shot, ensuring that each frame encapsulates the essence of your vision. So, grab your camera and come join the Welshot team and Joanna in the Creative Hub in Llandudno for a great night of photography.

This is a full day Welshot Progressive event specifically designed for photographers to concentrate on their own personal continued professional development and building a photographic portfolio. We are delighted to have Natalie Ciufo Green join us here at the Creative Hub in Llandudno. At this portfolio building session Natalie, who is a bit of a chameleon when it comes to fashion, will be sporting a number of different looks with at least five costume/outfit changes. You will be learning how to work with your model, posing Natalie for your portraits and use your lighting to compliment your model which will give you the best possible composition for your photograph. You will be using studio mains, and off camera flash lighting techniques in the studio itself as well as using the buildings features to capture your portrait photos for your portfolio. If the weather is suitable we may also go outdoors for some funky, grungy and dynamic images.

Tonight at the Welshot portfolio building session we are excited to have Olga Solomakhina joining us at the Creative Hub in Llandudno. At this Welshot Progressive event we are going to help you to see (and capture) your image in black & white. Our model will be sporting a number of different looks with at least four costume/outfit changes. You will be learning how to work with your model, posing Olga for your portraits and use your lighting to compliment your model which will give you the best possible composition for your photographs.

You will be using studio mains, and off camera flash lighting techniques in the studio itself as well as using the buildings features to capture your portrait photos for your portfolio. If the weather is suitable we may also go outdoors to make some funky, grungy and dynamic images.

Tonight your Model, Darcie Binsley, will be helping you to unleash your creativity in the Welshot studio and outside on location in Llandudno. Our theme for this evenings photographic session will be a nod to the 1960’s and 1970’s complete with props and studio sets.

Macro & Close-Up Floral Photography- Welshot Creative Hub

Macro photography (or close-up photography) is a photographic genre that some people struggle with but at our Full Day photographic event, based in the Welshot Creative Hub in Llandudno, Team Welshot will take you through step by step of everything you need to do to create some stunning macro photography images. At this event we will be working with a wide variety of flowers, using natural, ambient and artificial light, which will ensure you will still get a day of photography regardless of the weather outside. There will be ample opportunity for one to one tuition as well as in a small group setting where you can collaborate with others. With a whole day of photography ahead of you, there will be plenty of time to get creative, experiment and make some stunning images which you can be proud of.

There will also be an opportunity to review your images and get some help with post processing / editing of your images if you wish.

Piers & Promenades in Llandudno – A WelshotRewards Day

Piers and Promenades, this photographic adventure will have it all, from architecture to artistic angles, from North Shore to West Shore, this WelshotRewards Day for Members is the perfect day for those who like to be out and about with their camera capturing the beauty of the world around them. Llandudno, Queen of the Resorts has it all for the photographer – historic piers, photogenic promenades lined on one side with a wide open expanse of the Llandudno North Shore, to the Victorian listed buildings that will provide you with the features of the colourful architecture. After photographing the pier and bay, we will then move to West Shore and there you will find rock pools and sandy beaches with a backdrop of the Welsh hills and Anglesey in distance – from which the sun will set behind, hopefully giving us a wonderful golden hour, a colourful sunset and magnificent light in what photographers call the blue hour. If you want to set yourself a bit of a photographic challenge – we’ve got just the one for you!

Still-Life in Miniature – Close-Up Photography

Do you love still-life photography? No room for the big studio set-ups or space to house those larger props? Then this event is going to be perfect for you! The idea for this Welshot, Still-Life in Miniature event was born from a visit of some friends to Anglesey in North Wales – the weather was too bad for any of the nature photography they’d hoped for but they’d packed their car with all manner of props, backdrops, fabric and flowers – all of the miniature (think Dolls House) size. Once you’ve picked your props, it’s time to learn how to style and compose your photo – from using natural light to continuous photographic lighting this is the perfect indoors table top photographic project.
