What Will Happen

This studio mains flash for photography is a practical, hands on Welshot Academy Evening for all photography enthusiasts wanting to learn how to creatively shoot portraits using flash studio lights. Learning about lighting, and how it works, is the single most important thing you can learn when it comes to your portrait photography. Rembrandt, butterfly, side and split lighting, using grids, getting creative, learning to see (and shoot) in black and white will help you to create, learn and inspire your photography. Your studio mains flash for photography workshop will be taking place at the Chester Crowne Plaza.

Learning how to control the light takes a lot of time and practice and can be overwhelming for some, especially, if you are a beginner to studio mains flash photography. By learning the right techniques, learning about how the light works (with your camera) it can also be fun and the results stunning. Our Welshot Team Leaders will guide you step by step, showing you how to set up your first light, a second light, and more – adding a reflector, using a grid, and, more importantly, how to get the picture right in your camera. You will also learn how to pose and direct your model to get the photo you want.

Our Welshot Chester Academy Evening gives you a chance to learn, be creative and with the right amount of theory and practice, that will help you to boost your imagination, gain more confidence in a studio environment and make some stunning images for your portfolio at the same time.

Whether you are a beginner to photography, a photographer who would like to try a new genre, learn a new technique or skill, or, a more advanced photographer who wants to build their image portfolio, you will be made welcome, and we would love to help you get the best out of your camera.

The Welshot Team will be at hand throughout this Studio Mains Flash Photography – Chester Photographic Academy Evening to assist and help you get the best from your camera, so you can leave at the end of this session with memory cards full of beautiful photographs and great memories having learned a thing or three about studio mains flash photography, lighting techniques and your camera.

Please Note: Supper is included in the cost of this event. This is an inside event with at least two different mains studio set-ups. Delegate numbers are restricted to ensure plenty of 1:1 and group tuition time. Models, team leaders, shooting time are proportionate.

Welshot will be keeping within Welsh Government regulations and recommendations regarding the Coronavirus and Covid 19 Regulations, and we expect our delegates to do the same.
