What Will Happen

Astro photography – How to shoot the night sky. Join the team from Welshot for an Evening of night photography. From low-light, long exposures to how to photograph the night sky this Welshot photographic event at Cwm Idwal in Snowdonia will keep you and your camera busy taking stunning images from before sunset to long after the sun has gone down. You will learn how to make long exposures to capture the lake and sky as well as clouds and dramatic mountain landscape in low light conditions. For those who would like to learn the art of light painting, we will be lighting up the picturesque bridge that leads up to the lake.

You will have two photography masterclasses:

• Learning how to shoot the golden hour before catching the sunset and blue hour that photographers love so much.
• Getting prepared for an Evening of Astro Photography to ensure your camera is all set up correctly to catch the night sky.

Whether you are a beginner to photography, a photographer who would like to try a new genre, learn a new technique or skill, or, a more advanced photographer who wants to build their image portfolio, you will be made welcome, and we would love to help you get the best out of your camera.

The Welshot Team will be on hand throughout this Astro Photography – How To Shoot the Night Sky – Cwm Idwal Snowdonia – Mini Module with Masterclass to assist and help you get the best from your camera, so you can leave at the end of this session with memory cards full of beautiful photographs and great memories having learned a thing or three about Astro photography and your camera techniques.

Please Note: No food or drink is included in the cost of this event. This is a fully outdoor event – please make sure you (and your camera) come dressed appropriately. If Welshot decides to postpone this event due to bad weather conditions, you will be given several options regarding your booking.

Welshot will be keeping within Welsh Government regulations and recommendations regarding the Coronavirus and Covid 19 Regulations, and we expect our delegates to do the same.

• Camera and lenses suitable for this event – Wide angle if possible or standard zoom
• Spare (Fully Charged) Batteries and Memory Card
• Tripod / Cable release if you have one
• Refreshments – Snacks or drinks you think you will require during the event

• Torch AND head touch, preferably with a RED light
