What Will Happen
This Lighting Techniques for Studio Portraiture – Chester Photographic Academy Evening event is for all photography enthusiasts who are wanting to learn about photographic lighting. During the evenings workshop you will be using mains studio lights and off camera flash. Learning about lighting, and how it works, is the single most important skill to have when when it comes to your portrait photography. Working with our Welshot Models you will try you hand at Rembrandt, butterfly, side and split lighting. You will be using grids, modifiers and getting creative, learning to see (and shoot) in black and white and working with coloured gels. This studio mains and off camera flash photography workshop will be taking place at The Chester Crowne Plaza.
Learning how to control the light takes a lot of time and practice and can be overwhelming for some, especially, if you are a beginner to studio mains flash photography. By learning the right techniques, learning about how the light works (with your camera) it can also be fun and the results stunning. Our Welshot Team Leaders will guide you step by step, showing you how to set up your first light, a second light, and more – adding a reflector, using a grid, coloured gels and, more importantly, how to get the picture right in your camera. You will also learn how to pose and direct your model to get the photo you want.
Our Welshot Chester Photographic Academy Evenings give you a chance to learn, be creative and with the right amount of theory and practice, that will help you to boost your imagination, gain more confidence in a studio environment and make some stunning images for your portfolio at the same time.

Please Note: Supper is included in the cost of this event. Delegate numbers are restricted to ensure plenty of 1:1 and group tuition time. Team leaders and shooting time are proportionate.
