What Will Happen
It’s Day Two of our Action Photography Workshop (WelshotRewards Day) and we are back in, what must be, the most stunningly located race circuit in the UK. Today it is all about learning how to capture classic motorcycles racing around one of the most picturesque circuits in the country. During the day there will be plenty of opportunity for 1:1 tuition, learning how to master the art of panning. During the day you will visit the pit area, helping you to get up close to the motorcycles being prepared for racing. As a photographer, this gives you an opportunity to build up a story of the day in photos.
During this action photography workshop (WelshotRewards Dday), at the Ty Croes racing circuit there will be many races of varying styles enabling you to capture different types of bikes on the circuit. Below is a guide as to the type of machines which will be racing.

Please Note: This WelshotRewards Day is only open to Members of the Welshot Photographic Academy. Entrance fees, food and/or drink are not included in the cost of this event.. This is a fully outdoor event – please make sure you (and your camera) come dressed appropriately. If Welshot decides to postpone this event due to bad weather conditions, you will be given several options regarding your booking..
Welshot will be keeping within Welsh Government regulations and recommendations regarding the Coronavirus and Covid 19 Regulations, and we expect our delegates to do the same.

The Schedule
- 10:00 – Meet at Paddock Café – Welcome, introductions, and handouts over a coffee/tea.
- 10:40 – Pit area walkabout. A chance to get the feel and capture the atmosphere, whilst capturing images of the bikes being prepared for racing.
- 11:40 – Masterclass. Instruction on the art of panning.
- 12:30 – Lunch/comfort break, discussion, and feedback at the Café.
- 13:30 – Race photography at various locations around the circuit with One-to-One tuition.
- 17:30 – Finish
Please Bring
- Camera and lenses suitable for this event – Lenses, Your kit lens or short zoom for paddock work. For photographing at the Circuit, you will require a longer focal length, something in the region of 200mm to 300mm is adequate. If you require any advice, please email us.
- Spare (Fully Charged) Batteries and Memory Card
- Admission to the circuit is the responsibility of the participant £10 at the entrance gate, along with programmes of the day’s events.
- Refreshments – Snacks or drinks you think you will require during the event but Welshot will be eating in the café.
- A list of ideas, help, questions etc that you would like to discuss with Welshot Team Leaders
