A Welshot for Kids Photography Workshop Llandudno – A “Colour Quest” Creative Photo Adventure
Looking for a kids photography workshop in Llandudno this Easter? Our “Colour Quest” creative photo adventure is a relaxed, fun, and engaging way for children, teens, and families to explore photography while discovering the world through colour, light, and storytelling.
Designed for all abilities, this session is all about creativity, confidence, and having a go, with no pressure and plenty of support from Team Welshot.
What is the “Colour Quest” photography adventure”?
Our “Colour Quest” photo adventure is a guided photographic walk around Llandudno with a creative twist. You’ll take part in a fun colour-based challenge, spotting and photographing different colours, textures, and details, and then use your images to create your own mini photo story. It’s part scavenger hunt, part creative workshop, and completely relaxed.
At Welshot, we believe photography should be accessible, enjoyable, and confidence-building. This session is about creativity, exploration, and connection. Not perfection.
What they’ll be doing:
- Taking part in a fun and engaging “Colour Quest” challenge
- Exploring Llandudno through a creative lens
- Photographing colours, textures, and interesting details
- Creating your own mini photo story
- Working at their own pace with guidance from Team Welshot
What they’ll learn (without it feeling like learning!)
- How to see and use colour in photography:
- They’ll start to notice colour in a whole new way. From bold, bright tones to softer, hidden shades. We’ll show them how colour can make their photos stand out and help tell their story.
- Simple composition techniques:
- Without any complicated rules, they’ll discover easy ways to frame their photos so they feel more interesting and balanced, just by changing where they stand or what they include in their shot.
- How to tell a story using images:
- They’ll learn how a small set of photos can work together to create a beginning, middle, and end, turning their pictures into their own little visual story.
- Building confidence with a camera or phone:
- Whether they’re using a phone or a camera, they’ll get more comfortable taking photos, trying new ideas, and trusting their own creativity.
- Slowing down and noticing your surroundings:
- This is about taking a moment to pause, look a little closer, and spot things they might normally miss, helping to see the world differently through their lens.

- Kids and teens of all abilities
- Families looking for creative things to do in Llandudno
- Complete beginners welcome
- Anyone who enjoys being creative and trying something new
A parent or guardian must remain with children throughout the session.
What to bring:
- A camera or smartphone (Cameras can be borrowed but may need to be shared)
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Weather-appropriate clothing
- Curiosity and creativity
- We also suggest bringing some snacks and a drink (to avoid those, can I have an ice cream moments) – we will stop for comforts stops along the way.
Event Schedule
10:00 – Meet at the Welshot Creative Hub – 16 Trinity Square, Llandudno – Welcome, introductions, plan of action
10:15 – Let the photo adventure begin…
12:30 – Lunch – Bring a picnic or grab some fish and chips (not included) and we’ll eat on the prom.
13:30 – Photo adventure resumes…
15:00 – Q&A and/or let’s look at those photos while we have a hot chocolate (for kids who want to share)
15:30 – Finish
For Parents & Guardians – Please Note:
A parent or guardian MUST stay for the entire session. This is a shared experience (free of charge for attending parent of guardian) and you’re very welcome to:
- Walk alongside
- Join in
- Take photos too
- Or simply enjoy watching your child explore and create
No childcare vibes, no pressure on anyone. You are welcome to bring any other children under 5-years of age with you free of charge. Children will all take away something different from this event. Some may come away excited about photography. Others may simply enjoy the freedom, the walk, and the shared experience. Both outcomes are a success.
