“I want to learn how to use my camera… Properly” is a statement we hear from people time and time again. How do I learn my camera? Is another – Our reply at Welshot is always the same. Practice, practice, practice, practice some more and practice again. According to Malcolm Gladwell’s blockbuster book ‘Outliers’ it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert at anything. That’s about 10 years of intensive practice to achieve mastery of any subject and here at Welshot we know, without a doubt, the people who get the best from their camera(s) are the ones that put the most time and effort into learning the art of photography.
Day Two of the Welshot Does… Adventure is about landscape photography in the Peak District. From rocky outcrops, peat covered moorland and stunning limestone dales to quaint villages, country lanes and historic millstone quarries where mill wheels remain abandoned. With woodlands and dramatic panoramas and bubbling streams, this is a day that keep any photographer and their camera busy for hours.
Welshot Does… The Shortest Night Photographic Adventure – visiting the beautiful landscape of Anglesey and Snowdonia in North Wales, is a firm Welshot favourite and always has our delegates booking on the next years ‘Shortest Night’ adventure before the bacon butties (included) have been eaten at the end of the event. The not so short, night of photography, which is always held as close to the 21st June as possible starts the event with a gourmet picnic (included) by the side of Llyn Padarn (Llanberis Lake) deep in the heart of Snowdonia before moving on for a marathon photographic session visiting numerous locations. Seventeen hours (Yes, we can see the irony!) of photographic fun, friendship and getting creative with your camera will have you shooting everything from star trails to long exposures, from architecture to land and seascapes.
