What Will Happen
Got the Winter blues? Want some colour in your life? Feel like getting creative with your camera? Then the Welshot still-life & floral photography full day event at the Welshot Creative Hub is perfect for you and your camera. Props galore, flowers of every size, shape and colour, backdrops and backgrounds by the dozen, this photographic workshop will get your creative juices flowing and have you creating and making stunning images for your photographic portfolio.
Are you a budding florist wanting to turn your hobby into a profession – or maybe you are a content creator, blogger? Do you want stunning images for your Instagram grid or maybe you just want to improve your camera skills and develop the quality of your floral photography images. Whatever your reason, this Welshot still-Life and floral photography workshop at the Welshot Creative Hub is for you.
Whether you are a beginner to photography, a photographer who would like to try a new genre, learn a new technique or skill or a more advanced photographer who wants to build their image portfolio, you will be made welcome and we would love to help you get the best out of your camera.
The Welshot Team will be at hand throughout this session to assist and help you get the best from your camera, so you can leave at the end of this session with memory cards full of beautiful photographs and great memories.
Please Note: All day refreshments and a gourmet lunch are provided at this event. This event is limited to 6 delegates only and each delegate will be provided with their own bucket of a wide selection of flowers. Props, backgrounds and backdrops will be provided but please feel free to bring any of your own.
Welshot will be keeping within Welsh Government regulations and recommendations regarding the Coronavirus and Covid 19 Regulations, and we expect our delegates to do the same

You Will Learn
- How to use your camera settings and functions
- How to choose your flowers, props and backdrops / backgrounds
- How to arrange, compose and shoot your still-life image
- How shooting in black and white / colour gives different results
- How to shoot using continuous lighting
- How to pre-visualise your still life image and working towards creating it at yourself at home
- Using light controllers, soft-boxes, reflectors, and other studio equipment
- How to think creatively
- What Welshot can do for you and your photography
The Schedule
- 10:30 – Welcome, introductions, handouts if applicable
- 10:45 – Introduction to studio lighting and to various technical aspects of the Fine Art Studio Photography
- 11:00 – Photography starts – 1:1 and group tuition (limited to 6 delegates)
- 13:00 – Gourmet Lunch – Included
- 14.00 – Photography resumes – 1:1 and group tuition – Q&A
- 17:00 – Finish

- Camera and lenses suitable for this event – Wide angle if possible or standard zoom
- Spare (Fully Charged) Batteries and Memory Card
- Tripod / Cable release if you have one
- Refreshments – Snacks or drinks you think you will require during the event
