Explore the coast and capture the culture with a full day of seascapes and street photography in New Brighton. Join the Welshot team for a photographic adventure in the vibrant seaside town of New Brighton, where you’ll discover the perfect blend of coastal beauty and urban character. This workshop is all about variety – from sweeping seascapes and dramatic skies to colourful street scenes, quirky architecture (New Brighton is famous for the amazing graffiti works of art on many of the building) and candid moments that tell a story.
Throughout the day, you’ll learn how to compose striking seascape images using natural light and explore creative techniques such as long exposures to capture motion and atmosphere. As we move through the streets and promenade, you’ll also be guided through the art of street photography – observing the details, finding the light, and telling visual stories through people, patterns, and everyday life.
There will even be time for a “Fish & Chip” lunch overlooking the Perch Rock Fort.
With support from the Welshot team, you’ll build confidence in photographing both wide-open landscapes and dynamic urban scenes. Whether you’re capturing waves crashing against the sea wall or documenting the buzz of New Brighton’s coastal culture, this workshop will leave you inspired, motivated, and armed with new skills to elevate your photography.

Whether you are a beginner to photography, a photographer who would like to try a new genre, learn a new technique or skill, or, a more advanced photographer who wants to build their image portfolio, you will be made welcome, and we would love to help you get the best out of your camera.
The Welshot Team will be at hand throughout this Seascapes & Street Photography – New Brighton event to assist and help you get the best from your camera, so you can leave at the end of this session with memory cards full of beautiful photographs and great memories having learned a thing or three about photography and your camera.
Event Schedule
10:30 – Meet – Fort Perch Rock & Lighthouse car park – Welcome, introduction and preparing your camera
10:40 – Photography starts – Group tuition and 1:1 tuition
13:00 – Comfort break / lunch in one of the many eateries along the prom (not included)
14:00 – Photography resumes – 1:1 tuition available
17:00 – Finish
Please Bring
- Camera and lenses suitable for this event – Wide angle if possible – Standard zoom – Macro (to capture those close-up details)
- We suggest you bring the lenses you have (or like working with) and we will help you get the best from your lens and camera
- Spare (Fully Charged) Batteries and Memory Card
- Tripod / Cable release if you have one
- Refreshments – Snacks or drinks you think you will require during the event
- A list of ideas, help, questions etc that you would like to discuss with Welshot Team Leaders
