Our first Walking with Your Camera – A Guided Photo Walk with Helen Iles for 2022 and it’s a Welshot Mini Module with Masterclass – on this photographic event which takes place in the stunning Bodnant Gardens in North Wales we are going to help you get the best from your camera. In our Welshot master-class you will learn the photographic technique of ICM (Intentional Camera Movement) and learn how to compose your images. Walking with your camera is about being in the great outdoors and capturing the surroundings in your camera. From long exposures to abstract water compositions to macro and close-up photography, capturing the flora and fauna, this day has it all for the photographer.

Grab your coats, camera and join us on the Welshot Winter Nature Ramble – Photography at the RSPB Conwy Nature Reserve in North Wales, guaranteed to help you blow those Winter cobwebs away while capturing the beauty from what can only be described as a stunning environment. The Conwy RSPB nature reserve is a wetland on the Conwy estuary, created from material dug out during the construction of the A55 road tunnel. It is now home to a variety of wildlife, and a great place for photographers and their cameras. there is always something to see and photograph, from landscape to macro, flora and fauna and, of course, birds. Your Welshot Masterclass will be learning how to work with composition / light / shutter speeds to capture movement.
Low-Light and Long Exposure Photography – Rhyl Harbour is located on the spectacular North Wales coast and it will be our starting point for this Welshot Photographic Roving Academy Evening. Fishing boats, sand dunes, seascapes, long exposures and low-light photography will be our focus on this learn your camera photography workshop session before moving along the waterfront to capture the architecture of Rhyl.
Low-light, long exposure and firework photography – what more could a photographer want as we come into the Winter season. Join the Welshot Team at the Welshot Creative Hub in Llandudno and over a mug of steaming hot chocolate you will start this photographic event with a masterclass on helping you to get the best images you can during the Llandudno Firework display. After the fireworks it will be all about long exposure seascapes, the waterfront and capturing the pier in low-light conditions
Welshot Does… The Shortest Night Photographic Adventure – visiting the beautiful landscape of Anglesey and Snowdonia in North Wales, is a firm Welshot favourite and always has our delegates booking on the next years ‘Shortest Night’ adventure before the bacon butties (included) have been eaten at the end of the event. The not so short, night of photography, which is always held as close to the 21st June as possible starts the event with a gourmet picnic (included) by the side of Llyn Padarn (Llanberis Lake) deep in the heart of Snowdonia before moving on for a marathon photographic session visiting numerous locations. Seventeen hours (Yes, we can see the irony!) of photographic fun, friendship and getting creative with your camera will have you shooting everything from star trails to long exposures, from architecture to land and seascapes.

You will have two masterclasses – learning how to shoot the golden hour, before catching that sunset and the blue hour that photographers love so much. The second Welshot masterclass will help you to get prepared for an evening of Astro photography to ensure your camera is all set up to catch the night sky.

Tonight you will learn how precision, where to place the light, and how it falls on your subject can dramatically effect the look of your image.
Bokeh Photography and making your own filters is what’s happening at the Welshot Anglesey Academy Evening in October. Based at The Bulkeley Hotel in Beaumaris we will be showing you not only how to create bokeh in your images images and helping you to understand all the things you need how to use this creative technique in your own photography but we will also be showing you how you can make your own filters unique to you and your photos.
