Celebrate St David’s Day with a truly Welsh photographic journey! Join Welshot as we explore three of North Wales’ most iconic castles, capturing history, landscapes, and the magic of the day through your lens.
Our adventure begins at the towering Conwy Castle, where stone walls and battlements invite you to experiment with composition and perspective. From there, we travel to Dolbadarn Castle in Llanberis, nestled amidst stunning scenery that will spark your creativity. We finish at Caernarfon Castle, just in time to photograph the sunset, blue hour, and practice long-exposure techniques as the day draws to a close.
Throughout the day, you’ll have the opportunity to:

Whether you are a beginner to photography, a photographer who would like to try a new genre, learn a new technique or skill, or, a more advanced photographer who wants to build their image portfolio, you will be made welcome, and we would love to help you get the best out of your camera.
The Welshot Team will be at hand throughout this The Three Castles Challenge – A St David’s Day Photographic Adventure with Welshot event to assist and help you get the best from your camera, so you can leave at the end of this session with memory cards full of beautiful photographs and great memories having learned a thing or three about photography and your camera.
Event Schedule
10:00 – Meet at pre-arranged location (email will be sent) – Welcome, Introduction and Information
10:15 – Photography starts – Group tuition and 1:1 tuition
12:30 – Drive to Llanberis
13:30 – Meet in the car park below Dolbardarn Castle
13:35 – Photography resumes – Group tuition and 1:1 tuition
15:00 – Drive to Caernarfon Castle – Meet in the Castle car park.
15:30 – Photography resumes – Group tuition and 1:1 tuition
17:55 – Sunset / Blue hour low-light & long exposure photography
19:30 – Finish
Please note: We advise you bring a picnic lunch and all day refreshments to keep you going throughout the day. There will be time for comfort stops enroute, but we will be eating on the hoof! If you do wish to stop, you may do so, but, it will be your responsibility to catch up to the rest of the group.

- Camera and lenses suitable for this event – Wide angle if possible – Standard zoom – Macro – Bring the lenses you have (or like working with) and we will help you get the best from your lens and camera
- Spare (Fully Charged) Batteries and Memory Card
- Tripod / Cable release if you have one
- Refreshments – Snacks or drinks you think you will require during the event
- A list of ideas, help, questions etc that you would like to discuss with Welshot Team Leaders

- Transportation, toll-roads, entrance fees, food or drink are not included in the cost of this event
- This is an outdoors event. Please make sure you come dressed appropriately.
- If Welshot decides to postpone this event due to bad weather conditions, you will be given several options regarding your booking.
