What Will Happen
Portrait Photography – Friday Night is Studio Night at the Welshot Creative Hub. This Welshot Photographic Academy Evening, based at the Welshot Creative Hub in Llandudno North Wales will be the perfect opportunity for you to get creative, work with models, build yourself a photographic portfolio, learn about studio (Mains Flash and Off Camera Flash) lighting and help you to keep up-to-date with the latest techniques, skills and equipment. Limited to eight photographers, with at least two models and two different studio set-ups during the course of this Evening photography workshop you will get One to One and Group tuition and training to help, support and guide you through what can often be thought of as a confusing and complex genre of photography. This, dedicated to learning all things studio lighting for photography course, will have you taking and making portrait images that you will be proud to show off.
From learning how to pose your model(s) to the best lighting (types of) and modifiers to use to make the images you want to create. From using props, backgrounds and gels to understanding the the correct settings, camera functions, lenses and focal lengths to use for portraiture and studio photography. You will learn about ‘Fill’ ‘Key’ (low key & high key) ‘Background’ ‘Hair, Separation, and ‘Kicker’ lighting techniques. Along with the learning of how, where and when to position your lights and using different techniques and modifiers can alter the look and feel of your image. You will be using one, two, three and four lights – learning how to build your set up from the base up. You will also learn how using costumes, accessories, props and backgrounds/backdrops (studio and on location) will have a dramatic effect on your final photograph.
The Welshot Studio (and on location) Nights will cover a wide variety of themes from dance and movement to headshots and conceptual photography – from shooting for composite photography to making an image for your camera club and salon competition, our Welshot Studio Nights will give you an opportunity to shoot, make and create your image in an environment that may not otherwise be available to you.
You will be provided with a workbook that will contain cheat-sheets and any other information relevant to the nights photography to take home with you for future reference.
Held on the LAST Friday of every Month, this, brand new to Welshot, Academy Evening, is designed as a one-off stand-alone course or can lead on from, month by month to build up into a series of events which will help to build your skills, experience and your photographic portfolio. You will even be able to have a creative input as to the themes, lighting effects, techniques and the types of photographs you would like to make (learn) if you attend on a regular basis. In effect, it will be like having access to your very own photography studio!

Whether you are a beginner to photography, a photographer who would like to try a new genre, learn a new technique or skill, or, a more advanced photographer who wants to build their image portfolio, you will be made welcome, and we would love to help you get the best out of your camera.
The Welshot Team will be at hand throughout this Portrait Photography – Friday Night is Studio Night at the Welshot Creative Hub event to assist and help you get the best from your camera, so you can leave at the end of this session with memory cards full of beautiful photographs and great memories having learned a thing or three about photography and your camera.
Please Note: This event is strictly limited to EIGHT delegates and photographers will be working in two groups of four covering Mains Studio Flash and Off Camera Flash lighting for photography. A light buffet supper with hot and cold drinks is included in the cost of this event.

The Schedule
