SUMMARY:Negative Space & Minimalist Creative Photography - Llandudno Photographic Academy Evening
DESCRIPTION:Negative Space & Minimalist Creative Photography – Llandudno Photographic Academy Evening\nIt’s all about negative space and minimalist photography at this Llandudno photographic academy Evening.  You will delve deep into the principles of minimalism and the strategic use of negative space to create striking\, thought-provoking images. The photographic session is designed to challenge you to strip down your compositions\, focusing only on the essential elements that tell a compelling visual story. By learning to isolate subjects (props) and surround them with empty space\, you will discover how the absence of clutter can bring emphasis to the subject\, evoking emotion\, enhancing mood\, and creating balance in their images. \nYou will begin by exploring how empty areas in the frame can complement and highlight the subject\, guiding the viewer’s eye and enhancing the overall composition. The art of minimalist composition will be introduced\, with a focus on eliminating distractions\, simplifying scenes\, and focusing only on the essential elements to create clean\, elegant visuals. The workshop will also cover framing and angles\, showing how different perspectives can creatively use negative space and help balance the subject in the image. \nLighting will play a crucial role in the workshop\, as you learn how to use shadows\, highlights\, and contrasts to enhance the simplicity of their compositions. The concept of simplifying subject matter will also be explored\, teaching you how to effectively isolate subjects to convey clear\, impactful messages. Additionally\, there will be a discussion on post-processing tips\, ensuring that subtle adjustments in editing will enhance the minimalist aesthetic without overpowering the simplicity of the composition. \nThe techniques you learn at this session will transfer into other genres of photography\, from shooting still life\, landscapes\, or portraits. By the end of the workshop\, you will have developed a deeper understanding of how to transform ordinary scenes into extraordinary minimalist works of art\, with a refined eye for composition\, light\, and subject selection. \nMain Image Credit:  Sue Mannings \nYou Will Learn\n\nUnderstanding negative space:\n\nExplore how empty areas in your frame can complement and highlight your subject\, guiding the viewer’s eye and enhancing the overall composition.\n\n\nMinimalist composition techniques:\n\nLearn how to eliminate distractions\, simplify your scenes\, and focus on the essential elements of a photograph to create clean\, elegant visuals.\n\n\nFraming and angles:\n\nUnderstand how to frame your subject creatively using empty space and explore different perspectives to create a sense of balance and harmony.\n\n\nLighting for minimalism:\n\nDiscover how lighting plays a crucial role in minimalist photography\, using shadows\, highlights\, and contrasts to enhance the simplicity of your shots.\n\n\nSimplifying your subject matter:\n\nLearn how to choose and isolate subjects effectively to convey clear\, impactful messages through your photography.\n\n\nPost-processing tips:\n\nGet tips on how to enhance your minimalist images through editing\, ensuring the simplicity of your composition remains intact while making subtle adjustments for maximum impact.\n\n\n\nBeginner to photography? SUMMARY:Welshot for Kids - A Photo Scavenger Hunt at Foel Farm Park
DESCRIPTION:Welshot for Kids – A Photo Scavenger Hunt at Foel Farm Park\nLooking for a fun and creative family activity in North Wales these Easter school holidays? Our Welshot for Kids Photo Scavenger Hunt at Foel Farm Park is a relaxed\, family-led experience designed to help children explore\, discover\, and engage with the world around them in a playful and meaningful way.  You can use your camera (or phone) or just simply take part in crossing off the items on our BINGO-style scavenger sheet. \nThis is a FREE activity/event but entrance to Foel Farm Park is required.   \nSet within the beautiful surroundings of Foel Farm Park on the banks of the Menai Straits on Anglesey\, this kids scavenger hunt invites families to take their time\, spot hidden details\, and enjoy a simple\, screen-free activity together. \nAs you explore the farm\, children will be invited to spot and tick off a series of fun and engaging items using our BINGO-style scavenger sheet. From animals and tractors to textures\, shapes\, and little details\, there’s plenty to discover along the way. \nThere’s no set route\, no time pressure\, and no right or wrong way to take part\, just a chance to enjoy one of the most enjoyable things to do with kids in North Wales\, at your own pace. \nHow it works:\n\nCollect your Welshot Photo Scavenger Hunt sheet\nExplore Foel Farm Park at your own pace\nSpot\, find\, and tick off the items as you go\nOptional: Take photos if you’d like\, but it’s not required\nEnjoy a simple\, creative activity as a family\n\nWhat they’ll learn (without it feeling like learning!)\n\nHow to notice details in the world around them:\n\nChildren will begin to look a little closer at things they might normally walk past.  From the texture of a goat’s fur to the patterns in the ground\, the shapes of tractor wheels\, or the way light falls across a surface. It’s about gently encouraging awareness and curiosity.\n\n\nThe joy of observation and curiosity:\n\nThis isn’t about getting the “right” answer\, it’s about asking questions\, exploring\, and discovering things for themselves. The scavenger hunt naturally encourages children to stay curious\, follow their instincts\, and enjoy the process of looking and finding.\n\n\nHow to look for colours\, shapes\, and patterns:\n\nThrough the BINGO-style sheet\, children will start to recognise colours\, repeating patterns\, and interesting shapes in a fun and engaging way. It helps them see the world more creatively\, without even realising they’re learning a key visual skill.\n\n\nStorytelling through what they find and see:\n\nEach item they tick off becomes part of their own little story of the day.  What they found first\, what surprised them\, what made them smile. Whether they take photos or not\, they’re beginning to understand how experiences can be turned into stories\n\n\nBuilding confidence through exploration and play:\n\nWith no pressure\, no time limits\, and no expectation to “perform\,” children are free to explore in their own way. This helps build confidence naturally\, celebrating small wins\, making choices\, and feeling proud of what they discover.\n\n\nSlowing down and being present in the moment:\n\nIn a world that often feels busy and fast-paced\, this activity creates space to slow down. To pause. To notice. To enjoy being outdoors\, spending time together\, and simply being in the moment without distraction.\n\n\n\nWho is this for:\n\nChildren of all ages who enjoy exploring and discovering\nFamilies looking for a relaxed\, creative activity to do together\nKids who love animals\, tractors\, and being outdoors\nChildren who prefer a gentle\, no-pressure environment\n\nWhat you’ll need\n\nYour BINGO-style scavenger sheet (provided)\nComfortable clothing and suitable footwear\nOptional: A camera or phone if you’d like to take photos\n\nA note for parents/guardians:\nThis is a self-led activity designed to be enjoyed together.  Parents or guardians are responsible for supervising their children at all times throughout the experience.
