SUMMARY:Creative Refraction\, Light & Abstract Photography – Llandudno Photographic Academy Evening
DESCRIPTION:Creative Refraction\, Light & Abstract Photography – Llandudno Photographic Academy Evening\nHave you ever looked through a glass of water and noticed how everything behind it seems to bend\, twist or even appear upside down?  That’s refraction\, and it’s one of the most fascinating ways to create unique and eye-catching photographs.  Photography doesn’t always have to be about capturing exactly what you see. Sometimes the most creative images come from bending the rules\, and even bending the light. \nJoin Team Welshot for an evening of exploration\, experimentation and creative play as we discover the fascinating world of refraction and abstract photography. Using a variety of glassware\, crystal balls\, prisms\, acrylic shapes\, mirrors\, coloured gels\, water droplets and other everyday objects\, we’ll transform ordinary subjects into extraordinary works of art. \nWe’ll encourage you to slow down\, look beyond the obvious and experiment with how light travels through different materials. You’ll discover how reflections\, refractions\, colour\, texture and distortion can all become part of your composition\, producing photographs that are unique\, imaginative and often completely unexpected. \nThroughout the evening you’ll have the opportunity to photograph colourful abstracts\, create miniature upside-down worlds inside crystal balls and water droplets\, explore reflections and patterns\, experiment with layered transparent objects\, and discover how changing your lighting or viewpoint can dramatically alter the image in front of your camera. \nThere are no right or wrong photographs during this Academy Evening\, just plenty of opportunities to play\, experiment\, learn and be inspired. Whether you’re looking to stretch your creativity\, see the world differently or simply enjoy trying something completely new\, Team Welshot will be on hand throughout the evening with demonstrations\, ideas\, encouragement and one-to-one guidance. \nCome along with an open mind\, your camera and a sense of curiosity\, you may never look at a simple glass of water in quite the same way again! \nYou will:\n\nDiscover how light bends and transforms through glass\, water and acrylic materials:\n\nGain an understanding of how refraction works and how it can be used creatively to produce photographs that are both striking and unusual.\n\n\nLearn how to use refraction as a creative photographic technique:\n\nExperiment with a variety of transparent objects to see how they can completely change the way your camera records the world around you.\n\n\nCreate abstract images full of colour\, pattern\, texture and shape:\n\nMove beyond traditional photography and explore compositions that encourage you to think creatively and see everyday objects differently.\n\n\nPhotograph tiny worlds inside crystal balls and water droplets:\n\nDiscover how simple objects can produce fascinating miniature scenes that will add something completely different to your photographic portfolio.\n\n\nExplore reflections\, distortion and layered compositions:\n\nUse mirrors\, prisms\, glass and other materials to create artistic photographs that challenge the viewer’s perception.\n\n\nExperiment with different lighting techniques to create mood and atmosphere:\n\nSee how changing the direction\, quality and colour of light can dramatically influence the final image.\n\n\nDevelop your observational skills by seeing everyday objects in a completely different way:\n\nTrain your eye to notice shapes\, colours\, textures and patterns that are often overlooked.\n\n\nBuild confidence in experimenting with your camera settings and creative ideas:\n\nGain the confidence to move away from automatic settings and try new techniques without worrying about getting everything perfect.\n\n\nLearn how to compose photographs that are imaginative\, artistic and unique:\n\nDiscover how small changes in composition\, focus and perspective can transform an ordinary scene into something extraordinary.\n\n\nMost importantly\, give yourself permission to play\, experiment and enjoy the creative process:\n\nPhotography should be fun.
