DESCRIPTION:Bokeh Photography & Making Your Own Filters – Anglesey Academy Evening\n\n\n\nWhat Will Happen\n\n\n\nBokeh Photography and making your own filters is what’s happening at the Welshot Anglesey Academy Evening in October.  Based at The Bulkeley Hotel in Beaumaris we will be showing you not only how to create bokeh in your images and helping you to understand all the things you need how to use this creative technique in your  own photography but we will also be showing you how you can make your own filters unique to you and your photos.  Bokeh is created by using a wide aperture to render a busy background into a soft space of colour\, turning small points of light into soft circles which establishes a shallow depth of field which causes the background to blur giving your image a pleasing effect and look. \n\n\n\nBokeh is used in portraiture and specifically\, close-up portraits or even macro photographs of nature. Photographers will use the bokeh effect a lot around the Christmas season too\, because holiday lights and reflective ornaments will look soft\, pastel like\, and diffused\, which gives you a beautiful\, finished image. SUMMARY:Lighthouses and Long Exposure Photography - Talacre Beach - Roving Academy Evening
DESCRIPTION:What Will Happen\n\n\n\nLighthouses and Long Exposure Photography.  The Talacre sand dunes form the backdrop to the beach at Point of Ayr\, in Flintshire\, North Wales and makes for a perfect location for the photographer who loves seascapes\, lighthouses and nature.  The sand dunes overlook a large expanse of sand and is on the western side of the River Dee which form part of the RSPB nature reserve.  Popular with bird watchers and photographers alike – the Natterjack Toad is also a habitat of the sand dunes which have been designated as a site of special scientific interest.  If lighthouses are your jam\, then Welshot has got you covered too – set\, mid-beach\, the Point of Ayr Lighthouse which was built in 1776 provides a fantastic photo opportunity\, especially if we get a sunset!  \n\n\n\nAs well as lighthouses and long exposure photography with seascapes and sunsets thrown in for good measure\, we will\, for those who would like a bit of inspiration or want to think a little differently – have a challenge for you – to create a photographic brochure of the RSPB Nature Reserve  – For those who want to try their hand at macro and/or clos-up tuition\, guidance and support will be given. Starting from the Coed Cyrnol Car Park\, we will be walking along the Belgium Promenade\, stopping at Llandysilio Island (otherwise known as Church Island) to capture the Britannia Bridge in all her splendour\, before heading towards\, and underneath\, the magnificent Telford’s Bridge.  As we walk up to\, onto and over the Menai Bridge itself we will capture this historical structure from both sides and all angles in our cameras.  If time permits\, we can then make our way\, by car\, to the local lookout layby near to the A55 (and Britannia Bridge) so you can capture both bridges in all their glory as you head home from a wonderful evening of low-light\, long exposure and architectural photography.     \n\n\n\nBeginner to photography? This Welshot Photographic Academy Evening\, based at the Welshot Creative Hub in Llandudno North Wales will be the perfect opportunity for you to get creative\, work with models\, build yourself a photographic portfolio\, learn about studio (Mains Flash and Off Camera Flash) lighting and help you to keep up-to-date with the latest techniques\, skills and equipment. Limited to eight photographers\, with at least two models and two different studio set-ups during the course of this Evening photography workshop you will get One to One and Group tuition and training to help\, support and guide you through what can often be thought of as a confusing and complex genre of photography.  This\, dedicated to learning all things studio lighting for photography course\, will have you taking and making portrait images that you will be proud to show off.   \nFrom learning how to pose your model(s) to the best lighting (types of) and modifiers to use to make the images you want to create.  From using props\, backgrounds and gels to understanding the the correct settings\, camera functions\, lenses and focal lengths to use for portraiture and studio photography.  You will learn about ‘Fill’ ‘Key’ (low key & high key) ‘Background’ ‘Hair\, Separation\, and ‘Kicker’ lighting techniques.  Along with the learning of how\, where and when to position your lights and using different techniques and modifiers can alter the look and feel of your image.
